Disappointment as station car park plans hit buffers

Plans to add an additional 150 spaces to car parking facilities at Selby Station have come to a halt following a decision by Network Rail.

The organisation had originally planned to create the extra spaces by developing the former Travis Perkins builders merchants site opposite but has since decided not to proceed with lease negotiations.

Speaking of the decision, John Grogan – MP for Selby said, "Extra car parking will be top of the agenda when we meet with Network Rail. It's desperately needed, and we want an explanation as to why this proposal has been put on hold."
