Former Selby police officer in court over alleged fraud

A former Selby police officer who stands accused of fraud and misconduct in a public office has appeared before Magistrates in Hull.

Charges against Rachel Hewitt, 39, relate to allegations that she falsely obtained money from her police colleagues by telling them her daughter was undergoing chemotherapy treatment for Leukaemia.

 

Appearing before Hull Magistrates on Wednesday 8th February, Ms Hewitt spoke only to confirm her address before the case was sent for trail by Hull Crown Court.

 

Hewitt will appear before the Crown Court on Wednesday 15th February.
