Selby Police ask for witnesses following Whitley JCB theft

Police in Selby are asking for help following the theft of plant and agricultural machinery from a farm building in Whitley.

A yellow JCB forklift, registration number YC10FDV, and a blue New Holland tractor, YX10FUF were amongst the items stolen.

 

The tractor was towing a trailer loaded with fifteen 600kg bags of fertiliser, valued at around £4,000.

 

A child's quad bike, a diesel pump and a Stihl saw were also taken in the burglary.

 

The items were taken at around 9.15pm on yesterday, from a farm building on Doncaster Road in Whitley, south of Selby.

 

PC Ben Astin, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team said, "I need to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the theft or can help to recover any of the stolen property. I ask them to contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.

 

"I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who knows the current location of either of the vehicles or the fertiliser. Or may have seen any item matching their descriptions in unusual circumstances."
