Andrez Tuszynski, 50 years old, of The Haven, dumped several hundred menus for Mama Mia's restaurant in Selby Park in September this year.
The menus were discovered by a member of staff from Enterprise, who manage street scene services in the Selby area who reported to Selby District Council's enforcement team, who investigated the offence.
In mitigation, when interviewed under caution by the Council, Tuszynski admitted dumping the waste that he had been employed to deliver door-to-door in Selby and apologised.
A spokesman for the Council said, "This waste was dumped in a very popular part of Selby town centre which is well used by the community.
"Fly tipping is a problem for many reasons, whether it is in a rural area or a town centre. It costs us, and therefore you as tax payers, to clean it up. The waste dumped may be harmful or cause pollution. It is an eyesore and disrupts wildlife."
The case was heard at Selby Magistrates Court on Tuesday 22 November.
