Approved at the meeting, were proposals to raise the standard daytime fare by 50 pence to £3.50 for the first three-quarters of a mile, with no change to the fee of £1.50 for each mile thereafter.
Additionally, those who use taxis after 11 pm will pay £3.70 for the first three-quarters of a mile, a rise of 20 pence, with no change to the fee of £1.70 for each additional mile.
Whilst the tariffs charged by Selby’s Hackney Carriage drivers are reviewed annually, this is the first increase to fares since February 2008.
