London rail link severed as power lines fall

Tuesday, 21 December 2010 12:54

Passengers travelling between Selby and the capital are facing nightmare journeys as wintery conditions cause more disruption across the nation.

Hull Trains services through Selby to London Kings Cross have been suspended following 'severe damage' to overhead power cables close to Huntingdon.

Whilst work to repair the damage is ongoing, operators are advising passengers to connect to alternative routes including East Midlands Trains services from Sheffield and Virgin Trains from Manchester Piccadilly and Brirmingham New Street.

Further details and revised schedule information can be found at National Rail Enquiries' website.

Update, 22 Dec: Services are this morning reported to be back on schedule following yesterday's disruption. Check with National Rail for latest info.
